Halloween
Halloween originated from the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, celebrated in the area of modern-day Ireland, the UK, and northern France, which marked the end of summer and the beginning of the dark winter on October 31st. During Samhain, Celts believed the boundary between the living and the dead blurred, allowing spirits to return to earth. Over time, Christian practices, like All Saints Day, incorporated and transformed these traditions, eventually leading to the modern observance of Halloween.
